The most crucial KPI for our future.

The FOOD2050 Climate Impact Model was developed to answer the question of how much global warming could be expected if the entire world ate a specific combination of foods. Hence FOOD2050 analyses recipes, food service operations and entire companies based on the consumption patterns of the respective customers and publicly displays those results in degrees Celsius of global warming potential.

The FOOD2050 Model is an innovative approach and the only one of its kind integrating climate scenarios used by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The model is science-based and continuously updated with the most recent data available. FOOD2050 aims to progressively involve renowned research institutes (currently University of Mannheim, Chair for Sustainable Business and The Bern University of Applied Sciences, School of Agricultural, Forest and Food Sciences) to improve the scientific model.

FOOD2050 empowers consumers and businesses alike to make the right decisions to align the food system to a 1.5°C world.
