A consumer guidance system aligning the interests of food corporates and consumers to stay within the Paris Climate Agreement of 1.5°C and to respect global health recommendations.

The Solution

The FOOD2050 Climate Impact Model (CIM) is based on life cycle assessments of foods in CO2, enabling us to evaluate, communicate and monitor results in the most powerful metric – degrees celsius of global warming potential. Based on national health recommendations for food consumption, we can evaluate how balanced a meal is, in regards to its nutrient composition.

Evaluating

With the FOOD2050 software the entire food and beverage offer can be evaluated for environmental impact in degrees Celsius earth warming potential as well as health aspects based on a scientific framework.

With an offer that respects the 1.5°C goal from the Paris Climate Agreement as well as the official Swiss foundations for healthy food consumption, we are fully aligned with the globally acknowledged Planetary Health Diet and are the first company that enables this concept to be applied on a meal level.

Communicating

FOOD2050 covers all essential touchpoints in the customer journey in order to guide consumers in their food choices.

All communication content is centered around the 1.5°C goal of the Paris climate agreement as well as the national recommendations for balanced nutrient compositions.

Whether the needs are digital or print, we got all requirements covered. FOOD2050 is a fully automised system that requires no additional manual data entries so that operators can remain in their usual environment.

Monitoring

We enable food service businesses to measure their climate impact and transparently and publicly demonstrate the performance achieved against the set climate targets.

The same applies to the evaluation of meals that match the national health requirements in regards to the nutrient composition of a meal.

Combining the two metrics together we can evaluate the overall compliance with the Planetary Health Diet.
